Brilliant new years party a good time was had by all

This room although it's on the ground floor, is not ideal for a person who is confined to a wheelchair.

Nice friendly staff breakfast spot on rooms OK television a bit to small

I've stayed at this hotel on about 3 occasions now, each time the staff was very friendly and happy to help with any enquires that I had.The rooms were clean, although basic, but what more do you need, after all it's only a place to rest your heads for the night,You don't go to a hotel 2 stay in it all day long. The food is lovely and I would recommend this hotel to anyone,I would definitely stay here again.

Unknown bodily fluid stains, smells and pubic hairsAfter reading other reviews I decided to stay at this hotel understanding is was well loved but clean. I was extremely disappointed that this was not my experience. Good points are - friendly staff, good breakfast, nice new bar/breakfast area. My room, however, was a different matter - like the others was very old and dated, had this been clean, it would not have been a problem as I was staying one night. I had asked to change rooms as the first room stank of old, stale cigarette smoke that other reviewers also mention. The headboard was clamped to the wall with plastic brackets and some kind of lagging used for plumbing on the top middle of it.I was given Room 15. The top sheet on the bed was covered in an unknown bodily fluid stain and had not been freshly cleaned. The sheet stank terribly. The bathroom was old, dirty and the bath had lots of dark pubic hairs in it and on the tiles. The carpet had a horrible stain along with cigarette burns. The bed was falling apart, springs sticking out - other reviews also mention this. I arrived late at night, a lone female traveller and after a 200 mile exhausting journey, I climbed into bed and found what I found. The sign in the room states there is no night porter, so I decided to put on my dressing gown and go to sleep on top of the bed - I would inform the staff in the morning of the problems. I had an uncomfortable night in the room, as other reviews state, there was a sound of constant running water. The reception desk was unmanned in the morning, a had placed asking all guests to leave their keys. In the breakfast room, the only male waiter said there was no management available to speak to. I wrote an email immediately during my breakfast to the hotel stating the problems I had encountered and left a note at reception to ask for my email to be checked. It took 2 days to receive a reply from management. It has been intimated that I have fabricated my findings, at no point has the matter of cleanliness been addressed or the state of the room. Management has investigated my complaint but I have not received an acknowledgement or explanation as to why this happened, rather accusations. Management inform me they Customer Service is important to them. The management are hung up on the fact that I should have spoken to the breakfast chef (???) about my complaint. They tell me they have a 2 star rating - this to me is irrelevant, that does not warrant a dirty sheet and unclean bathroom!! I have tried to contact them multiple times, they will only converse with me on email and now communication has broken down. They will reply to this review and state all the things that I should have done, they will even claim I threatened them. The complaint is a cleanliness issue, one they have avoided dealing with. Although I offered before placing a review, management have not wanted to see the photos I took - they know there is a cleanliness issue.
